Whisky Week comes to Edinburgh this September with 23 participating bars, each offering attendees exclusive access to selection of drams with prices starting at £5 or less in each bar. It’s your perfect excuse to experience Edinburgh’s whisky scene.

Your wristband is your key to unlocking these unique drams and exclusive events, giving you full access to a curated lineup of tastings and whisky experiences. You’ll also receive a printed guidebook and venue map, making it easy to plan your route and keep track of the whiskies sampled along the way.

Claive Vidiz Scotch Whisky Collection Viewing

Hidden beneath the Royal Mile sits one of the world’s great whisky treasures. The Claive Vidiz Scotch Whisky Collection is one of the largest of its kind, with more than 3,300 bottles gathered over 35 years. Join us on September 4th at 8-9pm for an exclusive private viewing.

The Scotch Malt Whisky Society

4-14th September

Normally reserved for private members, this world-renowned whisky club is opening its doors exclusively to Whisky Week wristband holders at its two Edinburgh homes: The Vaults in Leith and the city-centre Kaleidoscope Bar. Both venues will offer a specially curated menu just for the festival, giving wristband holders the rare chance to experience SMWS’s venues as well as their unique bottlings.

Walking Tour - Edinburgh Old Town

11th September 2pm | Start: The Royal Dick

Hosted by Eat Drink, Explore, Edinburgh in partnership with Edinburgh Whisky Week, join us for a whisky walking tour through Edinburgh's Old Town. Just like the national drink itself, the history of whisky in Edinburgh has matured and developed many curiosities and complexities. Our whisky walking tour guides you through the major city centre neighbourhoods, from ancient royal burghs and opulent garden squares to medieval vennels and meandering cobbled streets.

We will stop at several iconic Edinburgh bars and restaurants to sample the diverse range of Scotch whisky.

A carefully crafted blend of whisky, history, and tall tales, this tour is the best way to explore the city and deepen (or strengthen) your affection for Scotch whisky.

Tour starts at 2 pm at The Royal Dick at Summerhall.

Tour ends at The Black Bull, at approximately 5 pm.

Walking Tour - The Leith Whisky Mile

12th September 2pm | Start: Port of Leith Distillery

Hosted by Eat Drink, Explore, Edinburgh in partnership with Edinburgh Whisky Week, join us for a whisky walking tour through the historic Port of Leith, once the beating heart of Scotland’s whisky export industry, connecting Scotch whisky with the world.

We will visit four venues for unique drams of Scotch whisky, including:

As we explore Leith’s old bonded warehouses, hidden stories, and waterfront landmarks, you’ll uncover how this vibrant port helped launch Scotch whisky onto the world stage.

Tour starts at 2 pm outside the Port of Leith Distillery.

Tour ends at The Bowlers Rest, at approximately 5 pm.
